FAQ

What should I do when the EE-ALARM siren sounds?
Take shelter indoors away from windows, turn on ERR emergency radio (Vikerraadio 104.1 FM; Raadio 4 94.5 FM in Russian) and follow instructions at kriis.ee.
How can I evacuate without a car?
Tallinn–Helsinki ferry (2–3.5 h) or Lux Express / Ecolines coaches; in a hot phase, rely on the maritime routes.
Can I take my pet across the EU border?
Yes, with an EU Pet Passport: microchip and a rabies vaccination given at least 21 days in advance. Arrange it ahead of time.
Which routes stay open during active hostilities?
Maritime ones: the Finnish corridor (Tallinn → Helsinki → Sweden via Tornio) and the direct ferry to Stockholm; the land route through the Suwałki Gap closes first.
How many supplies should I keep at home?
Päästeamet recommends at least one week of supplies at home; the go-bag is a mobile 72-hour kit.
What are the must-take items?
Documents (passport/ID), water, medication, cash, a power bank and an FM radio.
